Here is my second doll and hollow tree trunk inspired by the Monarch Butterfly.
I used my bowls technique for her skirt. The wings are made of organza which was stitched using the new stickybacked washaway fabric. The monarch Butterflys were made the same way but using cotton.
I am a textile artist, Author and tutor living in the town of Swindon in the beautiful county of Wiltshire. I have been stitching all my life but only started studying it seriously in 1990 when I discovered City and Guilds embroidery. Since then I have taken a felt making certificate and also a HNC in stitched textiles.I now specialise in machine embroidered silk bowls,felt making & layering fabrics to make accessories.I am a member of the Marlborough & District Embroiderers Guild and co founder of the Great Western Embroiderers, a group of Mixed media artist.I also write murder mystery plays!
